A new group of liquid reactive nitrogen and nitrogen—phosphorus flame retardants for self-extinguishing polyurethane expanded polymers. Part I. Synthesis and properties

Abstract

Trihydroxymethylmelamine, 1 mol, was made to react with 2-3 mols of diethanoloamine or N-methylethanolamine for 30 min at 80 degree Celsius to yield reactive liquid flame retardants.Tri(diethanolaminomethyl)melamine, 1 mol, was made to react with 1-3 mols of phosphoric acid at less than 20 degree Celsius to yiels nitrogen-phosphorous flame retardans.
