Theoretical approach to the problems of adhesion does not give a possibility to elaborate an universal theory describing the phenomena occuring at the aluminum - polymer border during gluing and to consider these phenomena in experimental research works. The results of investigations of adhesion properties of Al. alloys surfaces prepared for gluing at various conditions of etching (Fig. 1, Table 1) and anodic oxidation followed with sealing (Tables 2 and 3). It has been stated that the presence of thin oxide layer on the gluing Al surface is a necessary condition to obtain high adhesive strength, as this layer allows to create chemisorption bonds (Fig. 7). The structure of this layer (Figs. 5 and 6) affects significantly the adhesive strength. It has been also stated that geometrical shape of metal surface profile (Fig. 4) changes its adhesive activity not much.
