Review of the most important methods of controlled radical polimerization (CRP). Part I. The main CRP characteristics and CRP with chain transfer

Abstract

This article constitutes the first of a two-part review series covering to the most important developments in the field of Controlled Radical Polymerization (CRP). A comprehensive review of the literature published mainly in the period between 2006 and 2010 has been made with special consideration of the criteria for the selection of chain transfer agents (CTA) in the Reversible Addition Fragmentation Chain Transfer (RAFT) Polymerization. Moreover, the procedure for the selection of the most suitable stable nitroxyl radical modifier for the stable free radical polymerization (SFRP) was evaluated.
