Polypropylene composites with natural carbon fillers obtained by rotational moulding

Abstract

PP composites with different contents of natural/waste carbon filler (1, 5, 10 and 25 wt.%) were obtained by rotational molding. Thermal properties (DSC), tensile properties and structure (optical and digital microscopy, WAXS) of PP composites were assessed. It was found that the composites are characterized by good surface quality of external walls and usually poorer quality of internal walls. The filler content affects both the degree of crystallinity and the mechanical properties of PP.
