Influence of the cooling rate on the non-isothermal crystallization of isotactic polypropylene modified with sorbitol derivative and silsesquioxane

Abstract

The influence of 1,3:2,4-bis(3,4-dimethylbenzylidene) sorbitol (DMDBS) and tetrasilanolphenyl silsesquioxane (phPOSS) on the modification of isotactic polypropylene (iPP) was investigated. In particular, dependency of crystallization behavior on the cooling rate was determined. To understand these effects the results of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) measurements and the crystallization curves were analyzed.
