Dressing materials applied in orthopedic and traumatic injuries. Part II. Urethane quasiprepolymers as chemically reactive polyurethane—fabric composite dressing material components

Abstract

Characteristic data are given on principal starting material groups (diisocyanates, oligoether oligools, oligoestrols, catalysts) used to synthesize isocyanate groups-carrying urethane-type quasiprepolymers to serve as water-curable chemically reactive components of polyurethane- fibrous substrate composites. Authors' own studies are summarized, concerned with curing of quasiprepolymers (Tables 1-5) and of polyurethane-knitted fabric composites based on these quasiprepolymers (Tables 6-9) in relation to catalyst type and catalyst quantity. Eight catalysts were examined; di(diethylene morpholine) ether proved to be the best catalyst.
